Hi there!  My name is Elise Morris and I’m a Licensed Massage Therapist.  I received my bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University with a major in Interpersonal Communication and a minor in Dance, and then went on to pursue massage. I graduated from the Kalamazoo Center for the Healing Arts in 2014 and have been practicing professionally in the Portage area since then.  I have continuing education in Myofascial Release (including John Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach), Oncology Massage, and Prenatal Massage.  I look forward to studying more Myofascial Release in the future along with CranioSacral Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy and much, much more.  Being a lifelong learner is one of my favorite things about massage.  I enjoy combining the above techniques (and more!) to create an individualized, integrated massage experience for clients.  I was drawn to massage when I decided to stop pursuing ballet professionally.  As a dancer, I had become fascinated by anatomy and the amazing things the human body is capable of.  I knew very well from experience the powerful healing benefits of massage, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.  I deeply enjoy providing the opportunity to rest and heal through massage therapy and am so fulfilled by seeing the restorative effect it has on clients. I am so grateful to be a part of this wonderful profession and look forward to all the adventures it will bring.  Outside the therapy room, I enjoy teaching Barre Pilates at the Kalamazoo Barre Studio, outdoor walks, bike rides, reading, organizing my home, movies, yoga, dance, family time and date nights with my wonderful husband.
